RESTRICTED SUBSTANCES POLICY


Rathnam Leathers
is committed to fair and sustainable business and pursuit of continual
improvement. The company will utilize these criteria in selecting suppliers of materials used
in the manufacture of our product lines and will rigidly test and monitor our end products
to ensure that it meets the needs of our customers and the sustainability goals of our
company and also to ensure that it complies with legislative requirements.
Our Company is committed to ensure that we produce finished leathers under safe and
healthy working conditions for our employees and protecting our environment thus
ensuring a long time sustainable development.

Rathnam Leathers strives to partner with competent, reliable suppliers that can provides
materials that are free from or within, permissible levels of restricted substances.


Suppliers to Rathnam Leathers will be required to supply all relevant Materials Safety Data
Sheets for the safe handling of their products. Producers of chemicals which may contain
one or more restricted substances, or which have the possibility of reaction or cleavage
to one or more of the restricted substances listed in Annexure-1 must supply documentation
certifying the absence from, or percentage content of, that restricted substance within their
product.


Rathnam Leathers will undertake independent, third party accredited testing agencies at
least once in a year for our exclusive product of finished suede leather for conformance to
the restricted substances limits set out in Specification Table. We will insist on our Raw
material (part processed wet blue skins) Supplier to test once in a year for limits as set out
in Table 1 for the material supplied to us. In the event that a customer requires its
purchases from Rathnam Leathers to confirm to more stringent limits, to a more stringent
testing regime or to be tested for additional restricted substances, Rathnam Leathers will
test in accordance with the requirements for that customer. We will request our customers
to inform us about the restricted substances in their market and expand our list.


In the event that a test sample indicates a non-conforming quantity of a restricted substance
being present in a product line Rathnam Leathers pledges to withdraw the product line
from the supply chain and inform affected parties if the product has already been shipped.
The details of the policy will be communicated to all existing Suppliers, changes in the policy
being communicated within one month of the three-monthly review and the same shall be in
effect within two months from the revision date. The policy will be communicated to all
existing & potential customers prior to the initial order being accepted.
