PARTIAL LIST OF ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
Medical care expenses include amounts paid for the diagnosis, cure, treatment, or prevention of disease and for treatments affecting any part or function of the body. The expenses must be to alleviate or prevent a physical defect or illness. (Expenses for solely cosmetic reasons generally are not expenses for medical care nor are expenses that are merely beneficial to one's general health, such as vacations.) In general, if the expense would qualify as a deduction on your federal income tax return, it is eligible for reimbursement under this plan. While insurance premiums are included in Publication 502, they are NOT reimbursable expenses for FSA purposes.
Insurance premiums, including those for Long-Term Care and Temporary Continuation of Coverage, are not eligible for
reimbursement. Also charges must be incurred within the Plan Year – not just paid, to be considered eligible.
